Art Week Finale

We really enjoyed art week. We had so many projects on the go and every student in A1 created soe amazing art work! We set the classroom up for viewing on Friday before visiting every class in the school to check out what they had done. There are some very talented artists out there! Here are some final pictures.

Some of our paper mache wetas didn't work out so a group of students laid them to rest. 

Young Leaders Art Lesson

Our Young Leaders in A1 (Scarlett, Harlem and Sarahna) went out of school this week to create mosaics. Each Young Leader was in charge of creating a sign for each room in the school. Scarlett was lucky enough to make A1's sign. Well done guys. They look amazing! 

Palindromes

We have been reading the novel 'Holes' in class. The main character is 'Stanley Yelnats' which is a palindrome. We have been learning what a palindromes are. Joel already knew a lot about palindromes so he made a slide show presentation to teach the class. Check it out below. Thanks Joel!

Rotorua Intermediate Orientation Day

Our year 6 students had a fabulous time visiting Rotorua Intermediate in preparation for next year They participated in activities such as cooking, woodwork and ICT. Thanks to Aneta (Haare's Mum) for going with our students and taking some photos. 

Hockey Skills Lesson!

Today we had Jamie from BOP hockey come in to teach us some hockey skills. We learnt how to hold a hockey stick, how to dribble a ball and how to swap balls with a mate. Due to the weather we unfortunately had to learn our skills in the hall which made it a bit tricky because the ball rolled faster but we had heaps of fun! Check out the photos and videos below.
