Term 4 Physical Education Assessment: Athletics

Learning Intention: We are learning to practise athletic skills to develop our ability to run, jump and throw. 

Term 4 Māori and ICT Assessment: Pepeha Using Videolicious

Learning Intention: We are learning to recite our pepeha using the correct Māori pronounciation. 

Learning Intention: We are learning to use the Videolicious App as a tool to share our pepeha. 

Term 4 Arts Assessment: Drama

Learning Intention: Initiate and develop ideas to create and perform a play with others. 

Term 4 Maths Assessment: Position and Orientation

Learning Intention: Select the compass direction or directions that children on a playground grid need to move to reach pieces of equipment or objects. 

Kiwa is achieving at Level 2 of the curriculum for Position and Orientation. 

Term 3 Māori Assessment: Ngati Whakaue Koromatua

Learning Intention: 

Identify all 6 Ngati Whakaue Koromatua and share background information on one chosen Koromatua. Pronounce Māori names and words correctly. 

Term 3 Art Assessment: Carving

Learning Intention: To create a piece of visual art that depicts 

Aotearoa’s native flora and fauna

During art week we completed a piece of art work using carving. We had a piece of MDF which was painted black. During our planning stage we sketched a design of a native New Zealand plant. We then used tools to carve our design into the timber. 

Term 3 ICT Assessment: Bubbl.us

Learning Intention: 

We have been learning how to classify vertebrates using an online tool called bubbl.us.

Term 3 PE Assessment: Jump Jam

For Fitness in Term 3, we participated in Jump Jam. JUMP JAM is a fusion of dance & fitness disciplines along with cultural interpretations that capture the look, attitude, posture and elements of Aerobics and Fitness. It is a fun way to promote fitness for all of the children.

Learning Intention: Participate in jump jam and describe how regular physical activity assists in the promotion of well-being.

Term 2 Math Assessment: Geometry

Kiwa is working at level 3 of the curriculum for Geometry. 

Term 2 Art Assessment: Tapa Cloth

Learning Intention: We have been learning to demonstrate geometrical translations in the form of a tapa cloth.

Success Criteria: 

- Show an example of reflection, rotation, translation and tessellation

- Use traditional island designs

- Use traditional colours of a tapa cloth

My spikes are translated and my small squares in the corners are rotated and translated.  The triangles on the top and the bottom are reflected and so are the long rectangles on the sides.

Maori Assessment: Learning Intention- We are learning to perform the school Haka with mana.

E Koro Whakaue

Term 1 Swimming assessment: Learning Intention - I am learning to streamline glide on my front with straight legs and controlled freestyle action.
