Learning Intention: We are learning to practise athletic skills to develop our ability to run, jump and throw.

Term 4 Topic Assessment: Classification and Evolution

Learning Intention: Create a model of a newly discovered animal and justify why I have used each of the characteristics chosen. 

Term 4 Māori and ICT Assessment: Pepeha Using Videolicious

Learning Intention: We are learning to recite our pepeha using the correct Māori pronounciation. 

Learning Intention: We are learning to use the Videolicious App as a tool to share our pepeha. 

Term 4 Maths Assessment: Position and Orientation

Learning Intention: Identify distances and mark positions on a treasure map, with a scale, using point of the compass. 

Rishabh is achieving at Level 3 of the curriculum for Position and Orientation. 

Term 3 Māori Assessment: Ngati Whakaue Koromatua

Learning Intention: 

Identify all 6 Ngati Whakaue Koromatua and share background information on one chosen Koromatua. Pronounce Māori names and words correctly. 

Term 3 PE Assessment: Jump Jam

For Fitness in Term 3, we participated in Jump Jam. JUMP JAM is a fusion of dance & fitness disciplines along with cultural interpretations that capture the look, attitude, posture and elements of Aerobics and Fitness. It is a fun way to promote fitness for all of the children.

Learning Intention: Participate in jump jam and describe how regular physical activity assists in the promotion of well-being.

Term 3 Art Assessment: Carving

Learning Intention: To create a piece of visual art that depicts 

Aotearoa’s native flora and fauna

During art week we completed a piece of art work using carving. We had a piece of MDF which was painted black. During our planning stage we sketched a design of a native New Zealand plant. We then used tools to carve our design into the timber. 

Term 3 Maths Assessment: Measurement (Time)

Learning Intention: We are learning to convert digital time into 24 hour time. 

Rishabh is achieving at level 4 of the NZ Curriculum. 

Term 3 ICT Assessment: Bubbl.us

Learning Intention: 

We have been learning how to classify vertebrates using an online tool called bubbl.us.

Learning Intention: We are learning to plan, write and present a speech to the class.

Term 2 ICT Assessment: iMovie

Learning Intention: We are learning to use the IMovie Ipad app to demonstrate a learning experience we have had.

Term 2 Math Assessment: Geometry

Rishabh is working at level 4 of the curriculum for Geometry.

Polar Bears and Climate Change

Rishabh has completed some publishing about climate change and the effect it is having on the Polar Bear's habitat.

Term 2 Art Assessment: Tapa Cloth

Learning Intention: We ave been learning to demonstrate geometrical translations in the form of a tapa cloth.

Success Criteria: 

- Show an example of reflection, rotation, translation and tessellation

- Use traditional island designs

- Use traditional colours of a tapa cloth

This is a tapa cloth pattern. This includes rotation, reflection, symmetry and translation. The L shaped figures show rotation. The squares show tessellation. The inner pattern shows reflection. The triangles show symmetry.

 Learning Intention: We are learning to use a cause and effect map to analyse an environmental issue causing harm to a habitat.

Well done Rishabh. You are working towards having a strong understanding on the effects climate change has on a polar bear’s habitat. Your conclusion is particularly strong and I like the way you have related it to evidence to make your claim stronger. This is the beginning of a relational level of understanding. I would like to see more specific answers in your because boxes to show a more thorough level of understanding.
